Reports to: Program Manager: Execution



The position exists to identify and deliver innovative solutions that provide value for the customer, planning multi-disciplinary projects within agreed timescales and budgets.  This position also develops, tests and deploys business intelligence solutions as per requirements for both internal and external customers enabling users to perform business data analysis.

 Key Accountabilities:


Project management


• Define project and set project objectives

• Draft project plan that can deliver the set objectives within required time and budget

• Define functional requirements of the project team, and form such a team using the right company channels

• Identify all project stakeholders and their expectations, and put in place stakeholder management plans where required

• Identify projects’ risks and put mitigation measures in place where applicable

• Identify applicable regulations pertaining to project at hand and ensure compliance

• Oversee and manage project finance

• Manage project procurement against BOM requirements

• Conduct regular project reviews and produce reports thereof with appropriate action items

• Prepare regular project status reports in the form of charts, graphs, narratives; as appropriate to audience.

• Lead and/or participate in meetings with suppliers and customers for design reviews and to track projects’ status.

• Consult and recommend appropriate business solutions with PMO Executive

• Facilitate compliance to  policies and procedures.

• Conduct team performance evaluations in accordance with Human Capital policies and procedures

• Execute with diligence any other task the PMO Executive Manager may require

• Provide technical support to customers, Business Managers and third party suppliers

• Provide technical training of customers in products

Business intelligence


• Design, develop, deploy and support business intelligence reports from technical specifications

• Ensure the business has support both functionally and technically within the business intelligence environment, enabling them to perform their operational functions on a day-to-day basis

• Create stored procedures, database views and SQL scripts required to develop high quality report solutions and integrate developed applications with other applications

• Gather user requirements and create functional and technical specification documents to be able to manage the development of these reports

• Assist with testing and documenting customer specific reporting

• Maintain a repository of all customer reports

• Liaise with persons originating, handling, processing or receiving reports to identify problems and to gather suggestions for improvements

• Setup and maintain SharePoint portal for customer access to reports in the hosted infrastructure

• Setup of and assist solutions team with deployment of a new reports server for customers who are not hosted.

• Scope, develop, test and implement data integration and migration projects for customers that require a third-party application to be used to manage data outside of revenue management applications

• Evaluate, test and manage changes of internally developed applications to ensure production readiness prior to applications being rolled out to customers

• Collaborate with the software development team with respect to changes required for internally developed applications and management of incident change requests

• Design, deploy and manage data warehouse solutions

• Analyse and manage large complex volumes of data

Person specification


Qualifications and experience


• Matric

• Diploma or degree in Information Systems

• Project management qualification

• Microsoft SQL 2005/2008 MC ITP is advantageous

• At least 5 years’ experience project management experience in electronics/electrical

• engineering industry

• Experience in business intelligence using Microsoft business intelligence tools

• Experience with pre-payment products and report generation

• Drivers licence
